How to make an online photo gallery, free and with no sign-up

You can have an organized photo gallery, with albums, search and a slideshow, without creating an account, installing anything or paying. This guide shows how to do it with webpins, in a few minutes.

1. Open the site

Go to webpins in your computer's or phone's browser. There is no sign-up or login: the gallery opens ready and empty, waiting for your photos.

2. Add your photos

There are several ways, use whichever is handiest:

• click Add photos and pick the files;
• drag the photos anywhere on the page;
• paste images with Ctrl + V;
• pick a .zip file with photos;
• add a whole folder, where each subfolder can become an album.

The accepted formats are JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and BMP. Photos are kept exactly as they are, with no loss of quality, and the site recognizes duplicate photos by their content, so you do not end up with two identical copies.

3. Organize into albums

Create albums on the Albums page. To put a photo in an album, hover over it and choose Save, or drag it onto the album. The same photo can be in more than one album. Each album has a cover, which you can choose.

4. Find and view the photos

Use search to find photos by name or caption, and sort by date, name, file size or at random. When you open a photo, the viewer offers zoom, full screen, a slideshow and the photo's information, such as the date it was taken and the camera, when the file has that data.

5. Make a backup
